The IM contact must be present in your contact list.
The IM contact must be logged on to Presence Services.
Click Work Log icon on the Action bar.
The Work Log window appears below the Action bar.
Select the appropriate work log using the Show and View lists.
Click the Click to IM icon against the recipient's name.
A new IM window appears.
Type your message in the IM text box on the IM window, and click Send.
The system creates a new IM work item and appears in the Work List window of the application. If you initiate more than one IM interactions, the system adds the new IM recipients to the same IM window.
Note
Ensure that you choose the right recipient in the IM window before sending an IM message.
